After ripping out the carpet, it became readily apparent that there was a serious soft spot in the camper floor right as you walked in. I figured it would be an easy fix, so I cut a hole in the plywood, cut out the existing styrofoam and canvas bottom, and got to work at hammering together some supports. It seemed to go well, and after completing the job, I felt fairly proud of my first real completion of a job in the camper. I then got the idea to jump on it, since the camper was most likely going to be seeing a lot of jumping, running, and other things kids will do to a floor. As I jumped up and hit the repaired floor with all my weight, my body almost fell completely through. My repair had failed, and two days work had been for nothing. I released a massive roar at the frustration of not only failing, but having to figure out a way to do it all over again (and properly this time).
Fortunately, my dad had given me some angle irons for a separate reason, and I ended up bolting those on frame-to-frame. It worked like a charm, and with a little support, and plywood over it, it's stronger than ever.
